BL041-25 Shannon Road Water Main Improvements

Background
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is requesting bids for the construction of the Shannon Road Water Main Improvements project. This project is part of the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources' efforts to enhance water infrastructure, ensuring reliable service to the community. The goal is to install new water mains and related appurtenances to improve water distribution along Shannon Road.

Work Details
The project includes the installation of approximately 3,920 linear feet (LF) of new 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main and 20 LF of new 8-inch DIP water line along Shannon Road. The work will also involve the installation of valves, fittings, hydrants, and joint restraint.

Additional tasks include restoration activities such as grassing, curb and gutter repairs, driveway restoration, asphalt pavement replacement, a bore under a bridge, traffic control measures, detours, erosion and sedimentation control, and all other related appurtenances and site restoration.

Period of Performance
The project must be substantially complete and ready for operation within 270 days from the commencement date specified in the General Conditions. Final payment eligibility occurs 30 days after substantial completion.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed along Shannon Road in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have prequalified under the Annual Prequalification of Contractors for Sub-Section 1, Small, 8” to less than 16”, for Installation, Replacement and/or Relocation of Pressurized Water Mains and Appurtenances. Bids from contractors who have not been prequalified will not be considered.
