BL002-25, Rabbit Hill Park Synthetic Turf Conversion and Field Improvements

Background
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Rabbit Hill Park Synthetic Turf Conversion and Field Improvements. This project aims to convert a grass baseball field to an ADA-compliant synthetic turf field, along with the installation of new ADA dugouts. The contract is issued by the Gwinnett County Department of Community Services, which focuses on enhancing community facilities and services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Conversion of a grass baseball field to synthetic turf that meets ADA standards.
2. Installation of new ADA-compliant dugouts.
3. Site preparation including excavation and grading as necessary.
4. Installation of a porous composite shock attenuation pad as part of the synthetic turf system.
5. Replacement of existing fencing with black vinyl coated chain link fence, including posts and foundations as specified.
6. Removal of existing fences and installation of additional fencing as required.
7. Provision and installation of additional 419 Bermuda sod, asphalt seal coat, concrete walks, and other materials as outlined in the revised unit price schedule.
8. The project includes specific unit price items such as rock excavation, silt fencing, and various types of fencing (4' and 6' height vinyl).
9. Alternate #1 includes providing a four-piece, 10’ circle, 7” mound height youth portable pitching mound (The Perfect Mound or approved equal).

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within 10 days after receiving the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The onsite work is scheduled to begin on May 27, 2025, allowing time for the Athletic Association to complete their season. All work must be substantially completed within 120 calendar days from the NTP date.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Rabbit Hill Park located at 401 Rabbit Hill Road, Dacula, Georgia.
