Background
Chatham County, Georgia, is seeking bids for the Slip 3 Maintenance Dredge project located on Hutchinson Island adjacent to the Savannah International Trade Center. The project aims to remove accumulated sediment and underlying soil materials from Slip 3 to maintain navigability and comply with environmental regulations. This work is part of the County's ongoing efforts to manage waterway infrastructure effectively.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the removal of all materials encountered in Slip 3 down to the specified design elevation. The contractor is responsible for off-site disposal of the removed materials in accordance with the Maintenance Dredging permit.

The anticipated method of removal is hydraulic dredging using a cutter head, with disposal occurring in the Savannah River shipping channel. All work must be conducted waterborne as no upland areas are available for staging or temporary storage. Compliance with NPDES Georgia General Permit requirements is mandatory, and soil erosion and sedimentation control measures must be implemented as necessary.

Period of Performance
