Banks County School District Chick Products RFP

Background
The Banks County Board of Education, School Nutrition Program (Board/SNP) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Chicken Products as part of their School Nutrition Programs. The goal of this contract is to supply and deliver chicken products to the schools in Banks County, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and standards. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing high-quality chicken products that meet the nutritional requirements set forth by the USDA.

Work Details
The contract requires the provision of two specific types of chicken products: 'Chicken Large Chilled Bulk' and 'Chicken Small Chilled Bulk'. These products must be delivered directly to Banks County Schools. All products must be trans-fat free, with sodium content not exceeding 600 mg per serving. Additionally, calories from total fat should not exceed 35%, and saturated fat should not exceed 10%. Vendors are required to provide documentation verifying compliance with USDA Meal Pattern Requirements, including End Product Data Schedules, Nutrition Analysis, Ingredient Statements, Cooking Instructions, and product combination instructions. Vendors must also maintain a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan to ensure food safety during storage and transportation.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and terminate on June 30, 2027. There is an option for extension up to three months at the same bid pricing if mutually agreed upon in writing by both parties. Additionally, the contract may be renewed for up to four one-year terms under similar conditions.

Place of Performance
The geographic location for performance will be Banks County Schools in Homer, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with federal regulations regarding debarment and suspension verification for contracts over $25k. They must complete a Lobbying Certification for bids over $100k. Vendors are expected to provide a preference for domestic goods in accordance with the Buy American Act. The Board/SNP encourages participation from minority firms and women's business enterprises. Bidders must submit a non-collusion statement certifying that their bid is fair and without collusion.
