Background
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing design professional services for the renovation of the Criminal Justice Learning Lab and Public Safety at Albany State University, Albany, Georgia.

This project aims to repurpose an existing building into a learning laboratory space for the Criminal Justice program and administrative space to support campus public safety functions. The renovation is necessary due to the completion of a new Early Learning Center that has made the current building available for reuse.

Work Details
The scope of services includes comprehensive planning and design services for the renovation project, which involves adapting, converting, and equipping an 8,100 GSF building.

- Existing Site Conditions Analyses
- Measured Drawings
- Conceptual Design
- Schematic Design
- Design Development Documents
- Construction Documents
- Construction Administration
- Interior Design
- Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Communication Systems Design
- Structural Design
- Code Review and Compliance
- Commissioning Support.

The project will also incorporate sustainable design principles as per the Energy Efficiency & Sustainable Construction Act of 2008.

Period of Performance
Design Professional services are anticipated to commence by Summer 2026 with construction documents expected to be completed by Spring 2027. The start of construction is contingent on funding availability.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must be capable of performing a minimum of 50% of architectural design services in-house. They are required to submit a Certification Form regarding their qualifications and compliance with various legal requirements including O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91 concerning E-Verify registration.
