Alapaha WTS New Wells & Watermain

Background
Lowndes County is issuing a solicitation for the Alapaha WTS New Wells and Waterline Extension project. The project aims to enhance the water supply infrastructure by installing new wells and extending the waterline. This aligns with the county's mission to provide reliable utility services to its residents.

Work Details
The project includes the installation of two new 6-inch drinking water wells (approximately 600 feet deep) and approximately 9,200 linear feet of 6-inch DR 11 HDPE watermain. Additionally, a 20,000-gallon pneumatic tank will be installed.

The work also involves traffic control, temporary and permanent grassing, silt fencing, clearing and grubbing, connection to an existing 8-inch watermain, valve assembly installation, watermain testing and disinfection, as well as an as-built survey. The contract is structured as a unit price contract based on actual quantities of work measured.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Valdosta, Georgia, specifically at designated well sites and along specified routes for the watermain extension.
