Background
The City of Thomson and McDuffie County Board of Commissioners is seeking a qualified aviation consulting firm to provide professional on-call engineering, architectural, and construction inspection/administration services in connection with the Airport Capital Improvement Plan at the Thomson-McDuffie County Regional Airport in Thomson, Georgia.
The goal is to enter into a Master Agreement with a consultant for a five-year period to facilitate various airport-related projects.
Work Details
The selected consultant will provide services including but not limited to: project planning, geotechnical/subsurface investigations, topographic surveying, environmental assessments, preliminary and final design, bidding, and construction inspection/management.
Specific tasks may include:
- Preparing project funding applications and Capital Improvements Program (CIP) documents
- Performing design, bidding, and negotiation
- Construction administration
- Resident inspection services
- Assisting with DBE Program updates
- Constructing/rehabilitating airfield drainage systems
- Airfield pavement, lighting, NAVAIDs/ILS improvements
- Airport buildings (terminal/hangars/maintenance)
- Airport roadways and parking lots
- Installing/upgrading fencing and security systems
- Obstruction removal
- Improving runway/taxiway safety areas
- Land acquisition
- Other airport-related engineering work as deemed necessary.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a five-year period starting from the effective date of the Master Agreement. Services are limited to projects expected to be initiated within this timeframe.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Thomson-McDuffie County Regional Airport located in Thomson, Georgia.
Bidder Requirements
Responding firms must possess current pre-qualification by the Georgia Department of Transportation in Area Classes No. 2.09 Aviation Design, 2.09b Airport Design – Electrical, and No. 8.02 Airport Construction Administration and Observation.
