Description
Background
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing design-build services for the renovation of Donaldson Dining Hall at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia.
The project aims to modernize and enhance the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff by addressing outdated kitchen facilities, expanding serving lines, and creating an additional private dining room for special events or meetings. The goal is to improve operational efficiency, increase capacity, and provide a more comfortable environment for all dining hall users.
Work Details
The project involves renovating approximately 15,700 square feet of the existing facility and adding a private dining room of about 5,700 square feet.
Renovation tasks include kitchen upgrades to enhance energy efficiency and reduce food waste, replacing failing plumbing lines in the foundation, and doubling the serving line space to minimize waiting times. The new dining room will accommodate various group sizes with adjustable seating arrangements and modern technology for presentations. The renovation will be executed in phases to ensure minimal disruption during operation.
Period of Performance
Design Builder's services are expected to commence by August 2025 with construction anticipated for completion in December 2026. The start of construction is contingent on funding availability.
Place of Performance
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton, Georgia.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must have sufficient bonding capacity for the anticipated total cost of work and provide documentation from a bonding company. A current Contractor’s Public Liability Insurance policy is required.
Firms must possess valid licenses to operate in Georgia and demonstrate sufficient cash flow with a current ratio of 1.0 or higher. A commitment to safety is necessary with an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) over the past three years of 1.2 or less. Firms must not be currently debarred or suspended from contracting by any state or federal agency.
