26092-B: Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

Background
Fayette County, Georgia is seeking bids for the procurement of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) systems for its Fire and Emergency Services. The goal is to enhance firefighter safety and operational effectiveness during fire suppression, rescue, and emergency operations by acquiring new SCBA units that comply with current NFPA standards.

- Single rechargeable battery to power the unit
- Mask-mounted or integrated communication options
- Quick connect remote connection
- Chest strap with the harness
- Adjustable swiveling lumbar pad
- Continuous regulator hose
- Bluetooth communication compatible with current radio systems used by Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services (Kenwood).

The department anticipates purchasing approximately 122 SCBA packs, 312 face pieces, 288 total cylinders, and 5 RIT packs. Training will include initial user training for 10 personnel as level 1 technicians, preventive maintenance programs, and three years of SCBA flow testing.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed upon award until all products are delivered and accepted, with specific timelines to be established post-award.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. They must also submit performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract value prior to contract execution. Insurance requirements include general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence, automobile liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence, and workers' compensation as required by Georgia statute. Bidders must comply with O.C.G.A § 13-10-91 regarding E-Verify registration.
