26-036 Energy Roofing Project

Background
The Bibb County School District is seeking proposals from qualified Roofing Contractors to provide roofing services as part of the Energy Upgrade project for Heritage Elementary School and Rutland Middle/High Schools. The goal of the contract is to upgrade the roofing systems at these facilities to improve energy efficiency and ensure structural integrity.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Preparation of existing modified bitumen roof systems to receive a new recover roof system, including an IR scan per ASTM C1153 to identify wet insulation.

2. Installation of a new mechanically fastened, white, 60-mil TPO roof membrane over new tapered insulation and a 2" thick polyiso board.

3. Replacement of existing gutters and downspouts with new Kynar coated galvanized steel or aluminum materials matching existing sizes and colors.

4. Installation of new edge flashings, tapered crickets, and drainage scuppers as specified in the drawings.

5. Wet area repairs involving removal of damaged materials down to the roof deck, replacement with new insulation, and sealing with modified bitumen cap sheets.

6. Conducting third-party moisture surveys within specified timelines and providing documentation of findings.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the project schedule.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Heritage Elementary School located at 6050 Thomaston Road, Macon, GA 31220, and Rutland Middle/High Schools located at 6260 & 6250 Skipper Road, Macon, GA 31216.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in roofing projects similar in scope and scale. They are required to conduct site visits prior to bidding to familiarize themselves with existing conditions. All contractors must comply with local building codes and standards as referenced in the solicitation.
