26-025 RFP - Ed Defore Sports Complex Softball and Baseball Field Turf

Background
The Bibb County School District is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide construction services for the Ed Defore Sports Complex Softball and Baseball Field Turf. The goal of this project is to develop state-of-the-art softball and baseball fields with a sustainable design, enhancing the recreational facilities available to the community.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for project management, site preparation, coordination of trades and subcontractors, procurement of materials, compliance with building codes and regulations, quality control, health and safety compliance, and progress reporting. The scope of work includes:

- Site clearing
- Earthwork
- Erosion control
- Installation of synthetic turf systems (various options)
- Concrete paving for sidewalks and curbs
- Installation of backstop netting
- Chain link fencing
- Landscaping work
- Miscellaneous site specialties.

Specific tasks include:
1) Furnishing and constructing erosion control measures;
2) Installing storm drainage systems;
3) Grading and sub-drainage piping;
4) Installing synthetic turf systems with specified pile heights and face weights;
5) Providing a one-year warranty on all site work construction and an eight-year warranty on turf products.

Period of Performance
The contract term is for one year with options for four additional renewals. The project timeline will be established upon contract award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Ed Defore Sports Complex located in Bibb County.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of licensing, bonding, insurance coverage including worker's compensation and general liability insurance. They must comply with nondiscrimination policies and maintain a drug-free workplace. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a non-collusion affidavit and a certificate regarding debarment status. The contractor must also register with the E-Verify program as per O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91.
