26-012 Jett Ferry Spalding Drive

Background
The City of Sandy Springs is issuing this Invitation to Bid for the Jett Ferry Spalding Drive Sidewalk Improvements project (S2184). This project is funded through the TSPLOST program and aims to enhance pedestrian safety and infrastructure along Jett Ferry Road and Spalding Drive. The City seeks a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) pre-qualified prime contractor to execute the work, which includes maintaining two-way vehicular traffic during construction and adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of approximately 1,875 linear feet (LF) of new sidewalk along Jett Ferry Road from existing sidewalk at Jett Ferry Court to Spalding Drive, and from 3245 Spalding Drive to 7655 Dunvegan Close. Key components include:

- Installation of a rapid flashing beacon and crosswalk with associated pavement markings;
- Reconstruction of driveway transitions;
- Drainage structures;
- Gravity wall improvements; and
- Other associated enhancements.

The contractor must perform at least 51% of the work directly. All work must comply with GDOT Standard Specifications for Construction of Transportation Systems (current edition). Specific pay items include concrete sidewalk, curb & gutter, retaining walls, ornamental fencing, traffic control measures, and various drainage improvements.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to commence work within ten (10) calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed. The total duration for project completion is set at two hundred (200) calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along Jett Ferry Road and Spalding Drive in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be pre-qualified by GDOT. They are required to submit various documents including a City Bid Form, Bid Price Certification, E-verify Affidavit, GDOT Prequalification Letter, Business License, General Contractor's License, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Certificate of Insurance upon contract award. Additionally, bidders must not be in arrears or default with respect to any obligations owed to the City.
