#2536-A: Refurbish Lighting Fixtures & Replace Wiring

Background
Fayette County, Georgia is soliciting quotes for the refurbishment of lighting fixtures and replacement of wiring at the Kiwanis Recreation Center. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facility's lighting and electrical infrastructure as part of a larger renovation project. The successful contractor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and standards.

Work Details
The project includes:
1. Full demolition of existing lighting and ceiling tiles.
2. Installation of lay-in 2x2 acoustical ceiling tiles (Armstrong Cortega or approved equivalent) and LED 2'x2' fluorescent lights (Columbia Lighting or approved equivalent).
3. Installation of a grid system to support new ceiling tiles and lights, including suspension materials that comply with ASTM C635 standards.
4. Removal of existing spline ceilings and debris from the site.
5. Repairing, patching, and preparing existing walls and ceilings for new work.
6. Ensuring all materials meet flame spread and smoke-developed index requirements as per ASTM E84 or UL 723 standards.
7. Coordination with Fayette County for inspections and preconstruction meetings, ensuring work is conducted during designated hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).
8. Daily removal of debris and maintaining a clean job site throughout the project duration.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed by Fayette County, with specific timelines for commencement and completion to be determined by the contractor in their quote.

The work will be performed at the Kiwanis Recreation Center located at 936 Redwine Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
