25-900A Solid Waste & Recyclable Collection Service

Background
The Augusta, Georgia Engineering and Environmental Services Department is seeking proposals for Solid Waste and Recyclable Collection Services across three designated zones. The current waste collection contract is transitioning, with the existing services set to conclude on July 31, 2025. The service area encompasses approximately 308 square miles, divided into Zone One (urban area with about 30,000 residential accounts), Zone Two, and Zone Three (suburban areas with around 34,600 residential accounts). This initiative aims to enhance waste management efficiency and sustainability in the county.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing solid waste and recyclable collection services in three specified zones: Zone One, Zone Two, and Zone Three. The services include regular collection of residential waste and recyclables from approximately 64,600 total service locations.

The contractor must ensure compliance with local regulations and participate in the Local Small Business Opportunity Program (LSBOP) by utilizing local small business haulers for at least 25% of the contract value. Additionally, a performance bond of 100% of annual revenue and a payment bond of 25% of the annual contract value will be required upon award.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon execution of the contract and will continue until July 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed within Augusta, Georgia, covering the designated service areas of Zone One, Zone Two, and Zone Three.
