Background
The City of Sandy Springs is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the construction of traffic signal improvements at two locations: Roswell Road/SR 9 at Trowbridge Road and Roswell Road/SR 9 at Northridge Road.
The project aims to enhance traffic management and pedestrian safety in these areas. The work will be conducted under the oversight of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and requires compliance with their encroachment and signal permits.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Construction of traffic signal improvements at specified intersections, including restriping and accessibility enhancements on sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
2. Obtain necessary permits from the City of Sandy Springs and GDOT before commencing work.
3. Provide all machinery, tools, materials, labor, and supervision required to complete the project as per the contract documents.
4. Maintain two-way traffic throughout the project duration.
5. Adhere to GDOT Standard Specifications for construction.
6. Perform at least 51% of the work as a Georgia Department of Transportation Prime Prequalified Contractor or Registered Subcontractor in specified work classes (Traffic Signal Installation and Fiber Optic System).

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within ten (10) calendar days after receiving a Notice to Proceed from the City and achieve substantial completion within ninety (90) calendar days thereafter.
Final completion must occur within twenty-one (21) days after substantial completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations in Sandy Springs, Georgia:
1. Roswell Road/SR 9 at Trowbridge Road
2. Roswell Road/SR 9 at Northridge Road.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet specific qualifications including:
1. Must be a Georgia Department of Transportation Prime Prequalified Contractor or Registered Subcontractor in Traffic Signal Installation (Work Class 647) and Fiber Optic System (Work Class 935).
2. Submission of various documents including a bid form, qualification signature form, bid schedule, bid price certification, E-verify affidavit, addenda acknowledgment, subcontractor list, bid bond, certificate of insurance, and compliance with electrical safety provisions.
3. Bidders must provide references from similar projects completed in the last five years.
