25-028 Exterior Renovatioins For The Floyd County Historic Courthouse

Background
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified contractors for the purpose of performing exterior renovations on the Floyd County Historic Courthouse. The project aims to preserve and enhance the historical integrity of the courthouse while ensuring it meets modern standards.

The renovations will involve various construction activities that are crucial for maintaining the building's structural and aesthetic qualities.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) Cleaning, repairing, caulking, and painting all exterior painted surfaces except windows and window trim;
2) Sealing all terracotta pieces and sealing brick flooring in the tower;
3) Repairing and repointing two masonry dormers, as well as repointing masonry in other noted areas;
4) Adding a new downspout and repairing existing gutters as needed, including new pipes, drains, and grates to the existing stormwater system;
5) Cleaning and repointing masonry as shown on the drawings;
6) Adding two new trenches and grates from downspouts to road.

The contractor must also apply for, obtain, and pay for any necessary permits required to perform the work.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence within stated calendar days after being issued a 'NOTICE TO PROCEED' on the project.

The work schedule will be coordinated with ongoing occupancy of the courthouse by the owner.

Place of Performance
The renovations will take place at the Floyd County Courthouse located at 4 Government Plaza, Rome, GA 30161.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a Bid Bond of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid upon submission. A Payment & Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the winning bidder within ten (10) days of award.

Bidders must also comply with non-discrimination clauses, provide proof of E-Verify registration if applicable, maintain a drug-free workplace, and submit various certifications including a Certificate of Non-Collusion.
