25-020 Landscaping Services for Recreation & Parks

Background
The City of Sandy Springs, incorporated in 2005, is home to over 108,000 residents and a robust business community. The city is located in Atlanta's north metro area and aims to maintain its parks and recreational spaces through this contract for landscaping services.

The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive landscape maintenance services for various parks and properties within the city, ensuring they remain attractive and well-maintained for public use.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Recreation and Parks Landscape Maintenance Services which include:

- Mowing grass every five working days during the growing season;
- Pruning trees and shrubs to maintain health and appearance;
- Fertilization using slow-release fertilizers with a schedule of three to five applications per year;
- Application of pre-emergent herbicides to control weeds;
- Weed removal from all landscaped areas;
- Cleaning hard surfaces;
- Removal of leaves during seasonal dormancy;
- Removal of organic debris such as sticks and limbs without equipment;
- Seasonal color installation twice a year with maintenance;
- Integrated pest management practices;
- Adherence to ANSI standards for horticultural practices;
- Maintaining a presence in the city from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday, except in inclement weather.

The contractor must also manage all equipment, vehicles, and facilities used within the scope of work.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will be performed over a period that includes ongoing maintenance tasks throughout the year, with specific seasonal activities scheduled as outlined in the work details.

Place of Performance
The landscaping services will be performed at various locations throughout the City of Sandy Springs, including parks such as North Greenway, South Greenway, Marsh Creek, Hammond Park, and multiple school properties.
