25-007 S2179 Spalding Drive Sidewalk Project

Background
The City of Sandy Springs, Georgia, is issuing this contract for the S2179 Spalding Drive Sidewalk Project to improve pedestrian connectivity by constructing a sidewalk on the north side of Spalding Drive from Nesbit Ferry Road to Spalding Lake Court. This project aims to enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and is funded through the Sandy Springs TSPLOST funding. The project is designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant regulations.

Work Details
The project includes the construction of approximately 1275 linear feet of 6-foot-wide sidewalk, installation of new pedestrian signal infrastructure, replacement of inductive loop detectors, crosswalk striping, and a new accessible curb ramp.

The contractor must perform at least 51% of the work directly and must be a pre-qualified Prime Contractor listed by the Georgia Department of Transportation. All work must adhere to the Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction of Transportation Systems (current edition). The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary machinery, tools, materials, and labor as specified in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence within ten days after receiving a Notice to Proceed from the City and must achieve substantial completion within 150 calendar days from that date.

Place of Performance
The construction will take place along Spalding Drive from Nesbit Ferry Road to Spalding Lake Court in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
