2026-04 Demolition & Site Preparation Bid Proposal

Background
The City of Sandersville is seeking proposals from qualified demolition contractors for the demolition of the old arcade building located at 157 E. Church Street. This initiative aims to clear the site for future development and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Building Demolition: Complete demolition of the existing structure, including all above-grade structural components, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

2. Salvage of Brick Materials: Careful removal and retention of bricks for reuse, stockpiled on-site or at a designated location as directed by the City.

3. Debris Removal & Disposal: Proper removal and disposal of all demolition debris not designated for salvage at approved facilities.

4. Site Grading: Rough and final grading of the lot post-demolition, leaving the site level and ready for paving.

Utility disconnections will be completed prior to demolition by the City, and permitting fees will be handled through the Building and Zoning Department.

Period of Performance
Estimated start date is April 6, 2026, with an estimated project duration of 30 calendar days from notice to proceed.

The work will be performed at 157 E. Church Street, Sandersville, GA.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit three copies of their proposal in a sealed envelope marked 'DEMOLITION & SITE PREPARATION PROPOSAL' by the deadline of March 3rd, 2026 at 3:00 PM. The bid must include total costs for labor, equipment, materials, disposal fees, grading, and paving as described in the scope of work. Additionally, proof of general liability and workers’ compensation insurance is required.
