2024 - LL Revell Road Culverts

Background
Meriwether County is issuing a solicitation for the repair and replacement of two culverts on LL Revell Road, located in Meriwether County, Georgia. The project aims to enhance road safety and infrastructure integrity by replacing outdated drainage systems with modern reinforced concrete pipes (RCP). The county emphasizes the importance of understanding the general conditions and special provisions prior to submitting bids.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. At mile post 0.81: Replace existing 48" concrete pipe with a 60" RCP pipe, including concrete headwalls. The outlet end must have rip-rap pad protection with filter fabric. A stone bed of at least 8 inches is required, along with compacted backfill to within 12 inches of the road surface, followed by 8 inches of GAB (Graded Aggregate Base), 220 lbs. of asphalt binder, and 220 lbs. of asphalt topping. A minimum six-foot shoulder is required, along with grassing on the shoulder.

2. At mile post 1.10: Remove the existing pipe and install a new 60" RCP pipe with concrete headwalls, following similar requirements for stone bed, backfill, GAB, asphalt binder, and topping as above.

3. The contractor must field verify elevations and horizontal measurements to ensure proper installation of pipes and shoulders. Only one site may be closed at a time during construction.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon Notice to Proceed and extend for a period of 120 days.

The work will take place at specified locations along LL Revell Road in Meriwether County, Georgia.
