Description

RFP 24-002

Background
The Northwest Florida Water Management District (District) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 24-002 for Waterway Debris Removal.

The District's mission includes managing water resources and ensuring the health of ecosystems in the region. This contract aims to assist in the removal and disposal of debris from various water bodies to support habitat restoration and post-disaster recovery efforts.

Work Details
The contractor will provide services for the removal and disposal of debris from streams, shorelines, lakes, and other waterbodies.

Specific tasks include: obtaining property owner authorizations, removal and disposal of debris, restoration of staging and access areas, and provision of necessary personnel, equipment, plans, procedures, and materials for waterbody restoration. The types of debris to be removed include woody debris, non-woody vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, and recyclable materials such as metal and white goods.

The work will be conducted in an environmentally sensitive manner within public waters; no removal from private property is allowed without explicit written approval from the District.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term is up to five (5) years with an option for renewal for an additional five (5) years at the District’s discretion.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in various locations across Northwest Florida including Bear Creek, Bayou George, Cedar Creek in Bay County; Econfina Creek in Washington and Bay counties; Wetappo Creek in Gulf County; and Chipola River in Calhoun County.
