Background
The City of Fort Lauderdale, through its Transportation and Mobility Department (TAM), is seeking qualified consulting firm(s) to provide professional services related to a continuing contract for various planning and engineering consultant services. This initiative aims to support the transportation division, parking services division, urban design & planning, parks & recreation, and other related areas. The contract is established under the Consultants’ Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) in accordance with Florida Statutes 287.055.
Work Details
The selected firm(s) will oversee, plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and implement complex City transportation, parking, transit, and public space-related programs and projects. Services may include:
- Transportation Planning & Analysis: Development of multimodal transportation master plans, transit planning (new route planning, capacity analysis), Vision Zero program planning, connected vehicle technology studies.
- Community Outreach: Developing community outreach plans, preparing public documentation and conducting presentations.
- Transportation Engineering & Technology: General traffic engineering services including street design, traffic signal operations, bus facility design.
- Parking Management & Technology: Feasibility studies for parking systems and demand management strategies.
- Ancillary Services: Civil engineering services (structural assessments), landscape architecture consulting, construction engineering inspections (CEI), land use studies.
Period of Performance
The initial term of the continuing contract will be for three (3) years with the option for two (2) additional one-year renewals based on satisfactory performance.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas as required by specific projects.
Bidder Requirements
Interested firms must demonstrate experience in project management and provide professional services using in-house staff or identified sub-consultants. Firms are encouraged to have expertise in core service areas but are not required to cover every category listed.
