Sonitrol, Inc

Background
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services intends to award a single-source procurement contract to Sonitrol, Inc. The contract is for surveillance or alarm maintenance or monitoring services throughout the state of Florida. Sonitrol, Inc. is the original installer of the security equipment at various facilities and is the only known source that can provide additional equipment, monitoring, and maintenance of these systems.
Other security system providers cannot work with this manufacturer’s equipment and cannot integrate their systems with existing Sonitrol equipment. Changing to an alternate vendor would require installation of new equipment and create significant impacts in both time and costs to all business areas transitioning to a new service in all locations.

Work Details
The contract involves system maintenance and monitoring for specific facilities in Tallahassee, Carrabelle, and Apalachicola, Florida, as well as for miscellaneous department facilities throughout the state. Additionally, it includes any additional sites that may be added during the fiscal year.
