Small Minor Projects - Electrical Contractors at UF Scripps, Jupiter FL

Background
The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Technology, located in Jupiter, FL, is seeking to establish an annual continuing contract for Electrical Contractors. The goal of this contract is to simplify and expedite the execution of small electrical construction projects on the campus. This initiative aims to create a pool of qualified contractors who can be engaged on an 'as needed, per job' basis.

Work Details
The contract will cover small electrical construction projects with a maximum total construction cost of $200,000 per project. Contractors will be selected based on their qualifications and pricing. The awarded contractors must maintain constant communication with the University for emergency needs. The services include providing labor through various classifications such as Journeyman Electricians, Apprentice Electrical Workers, and Electrical Trades Helpers at regular and overtime rates.

Additionally, there will be a materials markup percentage applied to the costs of materials used in projects.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from the date of award until November 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Technology, Jupiter Campus, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of an Electrical Contractor license in good standing as per Florida Statute 489. They are also required to have general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and automobile liability insurance of at least $500,000 per occurrence with the University named as additional insured. Worker’s Compensation insurance must comply with Chapter 440 of Florida Statutes.

Bidders should list three similar projects completed in the last three years along with references.
