Background
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking competitive bids for herbicide treatment of invasive plants within two zones totaling 356.9 acres in the Seminole State Forest, located in Lake County, Florida.

Work Details
The contractor will perform herbicide treatment on approximately 356.9 acres divided into two zones:
- Zone 1 (326.6 acres) requires treatment of all Florida Invasive Species Council (FISC) Category 1 invasive plants, including cogongrass, Caesar’s weed, natalgrass, sword fern, tropical soda apple, camphor-tree, and Chinese tallow-tree.
- Zone 2 (30.3 acres) focuses solely on cogongrass.
The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, supervision, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Herbicide application must protect non-target organisms and the environment. The contractor is responsible for achieving at least 90% control of designated invasive plants within three months post-treatment. Reporting requirements include documenting treatment dates, locations, methods used, and weather conditions. Access to treatment sites requires prior approval from the project manager.
Period of Performance
The anticipated contract period begins upon issuance of the purchase order and extends through June 30, 2025.
Initial treatments should commence upon receipt of the purchase order and contract manager approval.
