Background
The City of Coral Gables is seeking to retain the services of a qualified General Contractor and/or Miami-Dade County Certified Engineering Contractor for the purpose of repairing and rehabilitating the sewer collection system. This includes the replacement of sanitary sewer main and lateral pipelines, cured-in-place lining for sanitary sewer pipes, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer manholes at various locations within the City on an as-needed basis.
Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) Sanitary Sewer Point Repairs (Mainlines and Laterals);
2) Sanitary Sewer Main and Laterals Replacement;
3) Sanitary Sewer Cleaning and TV Inspection (Mainlines and Laterals);
4) Cured-in-place Installation (e.g., Sectionals, Laterals liners);
5) Sanitary Manholes Rehabilitation;
6) Sanitary Sewer Manholes Replacement.
The awarded contractor must provide two dedicated crews, including one foreman and two laborers experienced in sewer system work. The contractor must also own or have guaranteed access to specific equipment such as a CCTV inspection system, trench excavation equipment capable of reaching depths up to 22 feet, and bypass pumping systems.
Period of Performance
The initial contract period is three years with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods at the sole discretion of the City. The contract may be extended for up to 180 days beyond the contract period if necessary.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within the City of Coral Gables, Florida.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have been engaged in providing similar services for a minimum of five years, provide three references from similar engagements, hold an active license as a General Contractor or Miami-Dade County Certified Engineering Contractor, and demonstrate ownership or guaranteed access to required equipment. Key personnel must have five years of experience in sanitary sewer construction and rehabilitation, be trained in OSHA Confined Space Entry procedures, Florida Trench Safety Act compliance, and FDOT Maintenance of Traffic.
