Background
The City of Apopka is seeking qualified transportation planning and traffic engineering consultants or firms licensed to operate in Florida. The goal is to provide efficient and economical services that adhere to industry standards and best practices on an 'as-needed' basis. The City plans to enter into agreements with the most qualified firms following the evaluation of submissions in response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
Work Details
The selected consultants/firms will provide a range of services including:
1) Transportation Planning:
- Traffic Study and Development Plan Review
- Parking Studies
- Project Feasibility and Alternative Analysis Studies
- Complete Street Studies
- Transportation Concurrency Management System updates
- Travel Demand Modeling
- Comprehensive Plan Updates
- Graphic Design for planning documents
- Impact Fee Updates.
2) Data Collection:
- Turning Movement Counts
- Machine Traffic Counts.
3) Studies and Analysis:
- Spot Speed Studies, Intersection Delay Studies, Corridor Travel Time and Delay Studies, Origin and Destination Studies, Traffic Signal Warrant Studies, Roundabout Warrant Studies, Multi-way Stop Warrant Studies, Traffic Operational and Safety Studies, School Safety Studies, Access Management Studies, Traffic Calming Studies, Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Studies, Road Safety Audits.
4) Design Services:
- Traffic Signal and ITS Design, Roundabout Design, Roadway Design, Signing and Pavement Marking Design, Access Management Design, Maintenance of Traffic Design.
5) Additional Services:
- Study and Design Review Support, Traffic Control/ITS Devices Inventory Support, Public Involvement activities, Property Appraisal Services, Construction Engineering and Inspection/Project Management Services.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from June 8, 2025 through June 7, 2028. There are options for two additional one-year renewals by mutual agreement.
