RFQ 0135-Union County Jail

Background
Union County Government is seeking an architectural firm that specializes in jail design and construction. The goal of the contract is to design a new jail facility and assist in selecting an appropriate piece of property for construction, as well as overseeing the entire project.

Work Details
The selected architectural firm will be responsible for:

1. Designing a new jail facility that meets the needs of Union County.

2. Assisting in the selection of a suitable property for construction. The properties currently being considered include:
- Steiner Property located at 402-408 Main Street, which is in the bidding process for demolition and is directly across from the Union County Courthouse.
- Seal Property located at 1535, 1539, and 1545 Main St, with Maynardville Hwy track numbers 6, 7, and 8.
- Veterans Street property located behind the VFW building, control map number 058, parcel number 012.00, encompassing approximately 13.6 acres.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will commence upon selection of the architectural firm and will continue through the design phase and project oversight until completion of the jail construction.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations under consideration for the new jail construction include properties in Maynardville, TN.
