Description

After a comprehensive review, Utility Engineering and Operations staff revised the May 2019 Construction Standards. The Draft Construction Standards, September 2024 edition, are ready for review by the public. The intent and technical integrity of the document provides a minimum standard and serves as a guide for the construction of water, wastewater and reclaimed water utilities.
Background
The Indian River County Department of Utility Services is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the revised Construction Standards for utilities, specifically focusing on the construction of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water utilities.
The goal is to establish minimum standards and guidelines for these constructions to ensure technical integrity and compliance with operational requirements.

Work Details
The contract involves the complete construction of a Submersible Wastewater Pumping Station, which includes:
1. Complete installation of pumps, motors, piping, valves, electrical work including motor controls, structure connections, and all necessary appurtenances.
2. Furnishing, shop testing, delivery, installation, and field testing of all materials and equipment for the pumping units.
3. Construction of a terminal manhole within 20 feet upstream of the lift station using C-900 DR-18 PVC pipe.
4. Painting outside walls and valve vault with two coats of water-based epoxy.
5. Installation of a concrete wet well and valve vault with at least two submersible wastewater pumps capable of pumping raw domestic wastewater into a force main.
6. Provision of all necessary accessory equipment and auxiliaries for optimal operation including field testing and training for IRCDUS personnel on operation and maintenance.
7. Supply of Operation and Maintenance Manuals along with warranty information to IRCDUS.
8. Installation must comply with specific design requirements as outlined in Section 14.02.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted in Indian River County at designated utility service locations as specified by the IRCDUS.
