QR 40945 Deep Creek Conservation Area Terrestrial Forestry Site Preparation

Background
The St. Johns River Water Management District (District) is a political subdivision of the state of Florida, covering portions of 18 counties. The District's mission includes managing water resources and protecting the environment. The goal of this contract is to procure a contractor for forestry site preparation through herbicide application at the Deep Creek Conservation Area, specifically targeting invasive plant species.

Work Details
The contractor will perform forestry site preparation by conducting a broadcast ground application of herbicides across approximately 140 acres within designated treatment areas at Deep Creek Conservation Area. The specific tasks include:
- Targeting the eradication of Primrose Willow (Ludwigia peruviana) and Cogongrass (Imperata cylindrica).
- Utilizing a tractor or skidder-mounted herbicide spray rig for application.
- Providing GPS tracklogs to ensure adequate coverage and submitting weekly reporting forms to the Project Manager.
- Monthly invoices will be submitted after review and approval by the Project Manager.
- The District will supply herbicides, surfactants, and application rates, which may include Glyphosate, Triclopyr, and/or Imazapyr.
- The contractor must have access to low ground pressure equipment suitable for soft ground conditions and must ensure no overspray occurs on non-target species.

Period of Performance
Work shall begin within 14 days of notification from the Project Manager and must be completed by September 15, 2025.
