Background
The City of Winter Park is seeking bids from qualified contractors for pest control services. The goal of this contract is to provide effective pest management solutions that protect public health, maintain operational efficiency, and prevent property damage. The City aims to engage a contractor who can deliver both routine and on-call pest control services as needed.
Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive pest control services, which include:
- Routine monthly treatments to suppress indoor and outdoor pest populations.
- On-call services for unforeseen pest issues such as termites, wood-destroying organisms, birds, bats, small mammals, and other vertebrates.
Monthly treatments will involve crack and crevice treatment in all major areas including:
- Indoor treatment of all rooms unless specified otherwise by the Facilities Manager.
- Spot treatments behind baseboards, construction cracks, water pipes, and beneath cabinets.
- Treatment of kitchen sinks, disposals, dishwashers, refrigerators, washers and dryers, water heaters, bathrooms, working areas, and locker areas.
- Exterior treatments will include a 6-foot perimeter around buildings and treatment of entrance ways to prevent pest access.
Response time for initial requests must be within one hour; rodent traps must be checked every three days until extermination is complete. Re-treatment requests must be addressed within twenty-four hours at no additional charge.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for thirty-six (36) consecutive months from the date signed by the Mayor or authorized signer on behalf of the City. There is an option for renewal for two additional twelve-month periods upon mutual agreement.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within the City of Winter Park, Florida.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all local licensing requirements to perform pest control services in Florida. They are also required to provide proof of insurance coverage including Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Professional Liability Insurance with a minimum coverage of $1 million. Additionally, bidders must submit a Drug-Free Workplace Affidavit and comply with Section 448.095 regarding employment eligibility verification.
