Description

The City of Fort Lauderdale (City) is seeking qualified consulting firm(s) to provide professional services for the comprehensive management and delivery of the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan and Parks Bond Program. Anticipated services include, but are not limited to, professional design, public outreach, construction bidding, project management, and construction management services for the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department. The selected Consultant(s) will play a key role in advancing the development of a high-quality park system through the management and oversight of these programs. The selected Consultant shall oversee and ensure the technical, economic, and functional consistency of all project components throughout the inception, design, and construction phases. The Consultant will work to meet the City's specific deadlines and needs while ensuring successful implementation. This includes overseeing the development of parcels acquired by the City's Real Estate Consultant for park development in currently underserved and future growth areas.

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking qualified consulting firms to provide professional services for the comprehensive management and delivery of the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan (PRSMP) and Parks Bond Program. The goal is to advance the development of a high-quality park system that reflects community values and aspirations, ensuring accessibility and recognition as a premier place to live, work, play, and raise a family.

The PRSMP serves as a blueprint for future growth, emphasizing safe, high-quality spaces.

Work Details
The anticipated services include: professional design, public outreach, construction bidding, project management, and construction management services for the Parks and Recreation Department. The selected Consultant(s) will oversee all project components throughout inception, design, and construction phases.

Specific tasks include:
- Managing the development of parcels acquired for park development in underserved areas.
- Incorporating sustainability features such as water conservation, energy efficiency, dark sky lighting principles.
- Enhancing stormwater drainage.
- Expanding electrical panels for solar installations.
- Utilizing Florida-Friendly landscaping.
- Addressing climate adaptation issues like flooding impacts and urban heat island effects.

Period of Performance
The contract term shall commence upon date of award by the City and shall expire two (2) years from that date. The City reserves the right to extend the contract for up to three (3) additional one (1) year terms.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed within the geographic boundaries of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must have been in business for at least ten (10) years in Professional Landscape/Architectural/Civil Engineering Design and Construction. They must hold current qualifications under Florida Statutes Chapter 481 or Chapter 471. Proposers must demonstrate relevant experience with similar projects and possess sufficient financial support to perform the required services. Additionally, they must comply with local business preference requirements if applicable.
