Palm Beach County Vista Center Expansion

Background
Palm Beach County's Art in Public Places program (PBC AiPP) is commissioning an Artist or Artist team to create art for the Vista Center Expansion located at 2300 N. Jog Road, Unincorporated West Palm Beach, FL.

This project aims to enhance the environment for staff and visitors of the Planning, Zoning & Building (PZB) Department and its partner Fire Rescue. It contributes to resilience in architecture and local placemaking. The commissioned art will reflect the services provided by the PZB Department and is part of a larger initiative to support increased workforce needs and emergency control center functionalities.

Work Details
The selected Artist will design, permit, fabricate, and install art in two key areas:
1. **Outdoor Entrance Plaza**: Art will function as seating for at least two adults in a minimum of two out of four designated seating zones. All seating must comply with Florida Building Code Accessibility Code.

2. **Indoor Lobby**: Art will be integrated onto three stairwell walls (constructed of concrete masonry unit and gypsum) and three soffit walls (constructed of stud and gypsum). Art on stairwell walls must not protrude more than one inch; art on soffit walls must not protrude more than two inches. The materials used must be durable, require minimal maintenance, and withstand local environmental conditions.

Period of Performance
The contract period spans from September 2, 2025 (Notice to Proceed) until October 26, 2026 (Art Installation Complete). Key milestones include completion of design development by October 15, 2025; construction documents by December 1, 2025; permit completion by March 31, 2026; fabrication completion by August 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Vista Center located at 2300 N. Jog Road in unincorporated West Palm Beach, Florida.
