Description

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking competitive pricing for ORANGE HAMMOCK WMA - OAK REMOVAL AND FIRELINE REHABILITATION, in accordance with the specifications contained herein.

A vendor submitting a bid should be registered in the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) system and with SunBiz prior to the bid opening.

Background
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is responsible for managing fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people. The Commission administers various programs, including habitat and species conservation. This contract aims to obtain competitive pricing for oak removal and fireline rehabilitation at Orange Hammock Wildlife Management Area (WMA).

Work Details
The contract involves two main projects:

1) Oak Removal over 10.5 acres, targeting live oak (Quercus virginiana) and laurel oak (Quercus laurifolia). The removal process includes cutting/shearing trunks down to ground level, transporting cut materials to a designated processing area, and disposing of all material except mulched materials off-site according to applicable laws. Stump removal is not included, and soil disturbance should be minimized.

2) Fireline Rehabilitation over 3.4 acres, which includes improving an old fireline corridor through tree cutting, root/stump removal, mowing, and the removal of any old fencing materials. The project will be divided into three sections with specific widths for fireline improvement and management actions adjacent to the line. All cut trees, large shrubs, and saw palmetto must be removed from the WMA.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year upon issuance of the Purchase Order, with project completion required by June 9, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Orange Hammock Wildlife Management Area located in Florida.
