NC 24-23 Terminal Ramp Expansion at North County Airport

Background
The contract is issued by the Palm Beach County Department of Airports for the Terminal Ramp Expansion at North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport (F45).

Work Details
The work includes various construction activities as outlined in the technical specifications:

1. **Preparation/Removal of Existing Pavements (Item P-101)**: This involves preparation of existing pavement surfaces for overlay, removal of existing pavement, and ensuring no damage to adjacent structures. Specific tasks include:
- Concrete and asphalt pavement removal with full depth saw cuts.
- Repair or removal of base, subbase, and subgrade materials.
- Preparation of joints and cracks prior to overlay/surface treatment.
- Removal of foreign substances/contaminates from existing pavement.

2. **Clearing and Grubbing (Item P-151)**: This includes clearing designated areas of all trees, stumps, brush, logs, and other debris that may obstruct construction activities. It also involves stripping existing turf where necessary.

3. **Excavation, Subgrade, and Embankment (Item P-152)**: This covers excavation for safety areas, runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage areas, and other construction purposes. It includes:
- Classification of excavated materials into unclassified excavation, muck excavation, drainage excavation, and borrow excavation.
- Disposal of unsuitable materials off airport property.
- Compaction of embankments using approved materials.
