Description

Lightning Protection System at Melbourne Courthouse and historic Titusville Courthouse
Background
Brevard County Purchasing Services is seeking bids for the installation of a new lightning protection system at the Melbourne Courthouse (MCH) and Historic Titusville Courthouse (HTCH). This initiative is part of the County's efforts to enhance safety and protect these facilities from lightning strikes. The project aims to ensure compliance with safety standards and provide reliable protection for both courthouses.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to install the lightning protection systems at both courthouses. The work includes but is not limited to:
- Installation of a complete lightning protection system as per the specifications provided in the bid documents.
- Compliance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards or certification from the Lightning Protection Institute (LPI).
- All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrical contractor as a subcontractor.
- Adherence to safety regulations and best practices throughout the installation process.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall achieve Substantial Completion within 30 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. An additional 30 calendar days will be allowed for Final Completion after Substantial Completion or after receipt of the Substantial Completion Punchlist by the County, whichever is greater.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two locations: Melbourne Courthouse located at 51 Nieman Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901, and Historic Titusville Courthouse located at 506 South Palm Avenue, Titusville, FL 32796.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or be a Lightning Protection Institute (LPI) Certified Contractor at the time of bid opening and throughout the project duration. Additionally, bidders must submit various forms including E-Verify Registration, Foreign Influence on Contracts or Grants documentation, Contractor Affidavit Regarding Scrutinized Company List, Reference Form with three to five references, Foreign Country of Concern Attestation, and an Anti-Human Trafficking Affidavit.
