Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Design and Support Engineering Services Continuing Contract

Background
The City of Fort Myers, established in 1886 and located on the southwestern coast of Florida, is seeking qualified professionals to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Fire Protection (FP) design and support services under a continuing contract. This initiative is in accordance with the State of Florida Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). The City aims to establish agreements with one or more engineering firms to deliver these services on an as-needed basis through individual task orders.

Work Details
The selected consultants will provide comprehensive MEP & FP engineering services for new construction, renovation, retrofits, repairs, and expansions of public facilities and infrastructure. Services include:

1. Mechanical Engineering: HVAC system design, load calculations, energy modeling; indoor air quality studies; system replacements and upgrades; commissioning and troubleshooting existing systems.

2. Electrical Engineering: Electrical distribution systems; lighting design; emergency power systems; fire alarm systems; low-voltage systems.

3. Plumbing Engineering: Domestic water distribution design; sanitary sewer systems; natural gas system design; water conservation strategies.

4. Fire Protection Engineering: Fire suppression systems; hydraulic calculations for sprinkler designs; smoke control systems.

5. Studies and Assessments: Facility condition assessments; energy efficiency evaluations; feasibility studies.

6. Design and Permitting: Preparation of design drawings and specifications; coordination with other design disciplines.

7. Construction Support Services: Bid-phase assistance; construction administration; site inspections.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed on an as-needed basis through individual task orders issued by the City. The anticipated timeline for this solicitation includes a submission deadline of March 24, 2026.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Fort Myers, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Consultants must hold necessary licenses to operate in Florida and have been in business under their current name for at least five years. They must not be in default on any debts or contracts with the City and must disclose any relevant legal issues such as judgments or pending lawsuits. Additionally, they must comply with the City's Minority Business Enterprise Policy if applicable.
