Background
The City of Coral Gables is seeking bids for marine vessels maintenance and repair services to support its Police Marine Patrol Section. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and repair of marine vessels owned by the City, which currently utilizes Yamaha outboard engines exclusively. This solicitation will also establish a Prequalified Pool of Vendors for future purchases of new outboard motors as needed.
Work Details
The contractor will provide maintenance and repair services on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to: hull and fiberglass repair, Yamaha engine and control systems maintenance, upholstery repair, and electronic/electrical and navigational systems repairs.
The City owns several vessels including:
- 2004 Whitewater AMH 290CC with Yamaha 300hp motors
- 2012 Contender 30 Tournament with Yamaha 300hp motors
- 2001 Carolina Sea Chaser 186 with a Yamaha 90hp motor
- 2017 Avalon Luxury Pontoon with a Yamaha 90hp motor.
The awarded vendor must provide estimates within three business days of service requests and may be required to perform inspections within the same timeframe.
Period of Performance
The contract will be for an initial period of three years with options to renew for two additional one-year periods at the discretion of the City. The work will be performed on an as-needed basis throughout this period.
Place of Performance
Services will primarily be performed at the City’s designated locations, including Cocoplum Yacht Club located at 6500 Prado Blvd, Coral Gables, FL, and Matheson Hammock Marina located at 9610 Old Cutler Rd, Coral Gables, FL.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have been engaged in providing similar services for at least five years and must provide references for at least three similar engagements. They must have a repair facility within Miami-Dade County and be able to provide mobile services to specified locations. Additionally, bidders must be authorized Yamaha dealers and provide proof that their mechanics are factory trained.
