ITB 2026008 - Districtwide Grounds Landscaping

Background
The Monroe County School District (MCSD) is seeking bids for districtwide grounds landscaping services to maintain clean, safe, and well-kept campuses. The contract aims to ensure the upkeep of all facility grounds through regular landscaping activities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive landscaping services including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep of the grounds at various school sites. Specific tasks include:

1. Mowing grass to a height of 3 inches +1 inch, ensuring no clippings accumulate in rows or piles.
2. Edging around buildings, sidewalks, and fences with herbicides permitted for maintenance.
3. Removal of weeds from concrete surfaces and landscaped areas.
4. Maintenance of bushes and trees to ensure they do not obstruct visibility or access points.
5. Application of fire ant bait on active mounds and maintaining mulch depths between 3 to 5 inches in landscaped areas.
6. Coordination with school events to ensure grounds are maintained prior to special occasions such as graduations and teacher return events.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for one year with an option to renew for up to three additional years, starting from the date of award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within Monroe County including Key Largo School, Coral Shores High School Campus, Marathon High School, and other designated sites as listed in the solicitation.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be authorized to conduct business in Florida and possess all necessary licenses for landscaping work. They must provide evidence of commercial landscaping experience totaling over $60,000 annually in Monroe County, along with documentation of multi-year contracts of similar size/value. Additionally, bidders must have a pesticide/herbicide applicator license and maintain safety training programs for employees.
