Background
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed proposals from highly qualified professional architectural firms with substantial experience in the design and construction of medical facilities. The goal of this contract is to provide consulting services for the Medical Examiner Facility Expansion project, estimated at $800,000.00.

Work Details
The project involves the expansion of the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner facility located at 11025 North 46th Street, Tampa, Florida 33617. The expansion includes:
- A new storage warehouse (approximately 6,000sf, expandable to 12,000sf)
- Forensics laboratory and office space (approximately 4,000sf)
- Limited renovations to the existing sallyport
- Master planning for a future 10,000sf County building and a future warehouse of 20,000sf expandable to 30,000sf
- On-site improvements including access driveways, parking lot enhancements, signage, landscaping, irrigation systems, storm drainage systems, fences, an emergency back-up generator, and a fire sprinkler system (NFPA 13 system).

All construction must ensure that the existing facility remains operational during the expansion.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by May 1, 2026.

The work will be performed at the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner facility located at 11025 North 46th Street, Tampa, Florida 33617.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be a State of Florida licensed architectural firm with requisite in-house or consulting licensed engineers. The proposing firm must act as the Architect of Record for the project; subcontracting these services is not permitted. All employees working on-site must undergo a criminal background check.
