Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BID OR PROPOSAL. THIS IS A STATUTORILY MANDATED FIFTEEN BUSINESS DAY ADVERTISEMENT OF AN INTENDED SINGLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES.
SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION FOR DETAILS OF THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO BE PROCURED AND SINGLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION FOR THE SAME.
Prospective vendors who believe they can provide these commodities or contractual services shall provide relevant information to the contact person listed on this advertisement no later than September 18, 2025.
If it is determined by the Department, after reviewing information received from prospective vendors, that the commodities or contractual services are available only from a single source, the Department will post notice of its intended decision to enter into an agreement with said vendor on the Vendor Information Portal pursuant to Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes.

Background
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking to procure controlled burns ignition spheres from Helifire, LLC, doing business as Field Support Services. This procurement is mandated by statute and is intended to support state forest management efforts aimed at reducing hazardous fuels and preventing catastrophic wildfires.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of Dragon Egg Ignition Spheres, classified under UNSPSC codes 412131700 (Igniters) and 46291600 (Firefighting equipment). The estimated quantity for this procurement is sufficient to fulfill large orders as required by the Florida Forest Service. The ignition spheres will be used specifically for conducting controlled (prescribed) burns as part of forest management efforts.
