Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BID OR PROPOSAL. THIS IS STATUTORILY MANDATED FIFTEEN BUSINESS DAY ADVERTISEMENT OF AN INTENDED SINGLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT BY FDLE.

SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION FOR DETAILS OF THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO BE PROCURED AND SINGLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION FOR THE SAME.

Background
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is seeking to procure a Hamilton Microlab STAR, a liquid handling robotic instrument used for DNA extraction. The current machine owned by FDLE is over 17 years old, antiquated, and in need of replacement. The Hamilton Microlab STAR has been validated to meet FDLE, CODIS, and FBI standards for DNA extraction. FDLE wishes to trade in the existing machine to generate a cost savings on the purchase of a new Hamilton Microlab STAR machine. The intended single source for this procurement is the Hamilton Company.

Work Details
The commodity or contractual service required is a liquid handling robotic instrument to extract DNA samples. The specific product required is the Hamilton Microlab STAR.
