Background
The City of St. Petersburg is seeking responses from qualified vendors to provide Geotechnical and Miscellaneous Materials, Testing and Inspection Services on an as-needed basis. These projects may be funded by the City, SWFWMD, FDEP, USEPA, or other agencies, and must conform to the requirements of the respective funding agency.
Work Details
The services required include:
A. Technical Services: Construction inspection, threshold inspections, field inspections, laboratory services, report preparation, and evaluation of existing bridge pilings.
B. Geotechnical Services: Field services for boring and sampling soil/rock; laboratory testing of samples; storage of samples for a minimum of 180 days; subaqueous sampling for grain size analysis; determining seasonal high water levels and percolation pond design criteria.
C. Construction Materials Testing: Field testing of soils, road base, concrete; laboratory testing of concrete and asphalt.
D. Materials Engineering Services: Special testing equipment provision; hazardous materials testing; groundwater and soil contamination analysis.
E. Miscellaneous Services: Percolation rates for soils; contamination evaluation; pavement core sampling; soil-cement stabilization mix design; pile driving tests; weld examinations; hazardous materials content testing in coatings.
F. Required Testing Services: Minimum scope includes backfill density tests, concrete mix verification and strength tests, stabilized subgrade evaluations (Florida Bearing Ratio), paint analysis for hazardous constituents, asphaltic concrete testing (Marshall Stability), environmental assessments (petroleum products, metals).
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed on an as-needed basis with no specified end date provided.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of St. Petersburg and potentially at various project sites as determined by the City.
