Background
The City of Palm Bay, incorporated in 1960 and located in Brevard County, Florida, is seeking bids from qualified contractors to establish a service contract for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic gates and power-assisted doors across the city. The City aims to ensure these systems operate safely and efficiently for its residents.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies, parts, equipment, travel, supervision, and services for the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic gates and power-assisted doors. Specific tasks include:

- Full installation of new systems as per OEM standards.
- Regular maintenance including inspections and repairs of components such as hinges, rollers, tracks, chains/belts, tension systems, and sprockets.
- Replacement of parts with OEM or universal components only.
- Testing safety devices like entrapment protection sensors and auto-reverse functions.
- Electrical inspections and repairs of wiring and control boards.
- Documentation of all service calls including technician details and recommendations for future work.
- Response times: four hours for standard service requests and two hours for emergencies.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for twelve (12) months from the date of award with the possibility of extending for up to four additional twelve-month periods.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed citywide in Palm Bay, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be properly licensed and insured. They are required to provide a minimum of three references from similar projects within Florida. Additionally, bidders must implement a drug-free workplace program as defined by Florida Statutes.
