FWC Dozer Transport Truck Body Fabrication

Background
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is responsible for managing fish and wildlife resources for the long-term benefit of both the environment and the public. This solicitation seeks competitive pricing for the custom fabrication of dozer transport truck bodies, specifically designed for transporting bulldozers and fireplows used in prescribed fire and wildland fire suppression efforts. The contract aims to fulfill the Commission's operational needs while ensuring compliance with specified standards.

Work Details
The contractor will fabricate a minimum of four (4) dozer transport bodies on M2 Freightliner Cab Chassis or equivalent. The fabrication includes:

1. Coordination with the Commission’s Contract Manager for delivery schedules.
2. Completion of fabrication within 45 days after chassis delivery, with a final deadline of June 15th.
3. Unit price must cover:
- Fabrication and mounting of the bed.
- Installation of hydraulics to operate ramps.
- Installation of DOT-required lights and reflectors as per F.S. 316.2225.
4. Welding must meet American Welding Society Standards (AWS), using flux core wire and ensuring all welds are ground flush.
5. Additional specifications include:
- Preparation, priming, and painting of the bed assembly black.
- Installation of necessary wiring, fuses, lights, hydraulic pump, motor, cylinders, hoses, fittings, and ramp chains.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year upon issuance of a Purchase Order, with an option to renew annually for up to three additional years based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the contractor's facility where the fabrication takes place. Delivery coordination is required with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission located at 1875 Orange Ave E, Tallahassee, FL 32311-6160.
