Background
The City of Pompano Beach is issuing this Invitation to Quote (ITQ25-071) for the full removal and replacement of an existing flat roof located at 1201 NE 5th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. The project aims to ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and City standards while enhancing the structural integrity and functionality of the Engineering Building's roof.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:

- Obtain all necessary permits (up to $3,000), including engineering documents.
- Remove the existing roof down to the concrete deck or suitable substrate.
- Remove all gutters, water diverters, lead stacks, static vents, drip edge, and lightning protection system.
- Clean the deck using grinding or spudding.
- Haul debris to a legal disposal site.
- Apply asphalt primer.
- Install a 1" ISO insulation base layer and tapered insulation for drainage.
- Install cant strips at wall intersections.
- Install wood nailers and galvalume eave metal along the perimeter.

The roofing system must include GAF, Soprema, or Firestone products: Strata Venting base sheet (loose laid), Rubberoid smooth ply (hot-mopped), and white granulated sheet (hot-mopped). Additionally, six new roof drains and six overflow drains must be installed. All penetrations must be replaced and flashed. Rotted fascia should be inspected and replaced after gutter removal. The original lightning protection system must be reinstalled according to code.

The contract work is expected to commence upon award. Completion timelines will be established based on the contractor's proposed schedule. The deadline for quotes is set for August 7, 2025.
