Background
The Miami-Dade County, Florida, is issuing this solicitation to establish a contract for the provision and delivery of fresh produce for multiple County departments. The goal is to ensure that fresh produce items are available on an as-needed basis, supporting various county operations.

Work Details
The awarded bidder(s) will be responsible for furnishing and delivering fresh produce items as specified in the solicitation. This includes:
- Providing fresh stock that meets USDA standards for ripeness and quality (U.S. Fancy or U.S. No. 1 grade).
- Ensuring all produce is delivered in a sanitary and temperature-controlled condition.
- Delivering value-added products with maximum 'best used by' dates available; items with less than 5 days shelf life require preapproval.
- Handling recalls efficiently, including removal of unsafe products and replacement at no cost to the County.
- Packaging must adhere to specifications outlined in Attachment A - Product Specifications, avoiding single-use plastics where possible.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on the first calendar day of the month following approval by the Board of County Commissioners and will expire on the last day of the 60th month thereafter.

Place of Performance
Deliveries will be made to various locations within Miami-Dade County, including specific facilities such as the Miami-Dade Community Services Department and Zoo Miami.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet several requirements to be considered for award:
1. Regular engagement in providing fresh fruits/vegetables, supported by two reference letters from customers.
2. Maintain a warehouse/distribution center within South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe Counties) staffed Monday through Sunday.
3. Designate a knowledgeable company representative available 24/7.
4. Provide a satisfactory sanitation inspection report from relevant Florida authorities.
5. Hold all necessary licenses for dealing in fresh produce as required by state law.
