Background
The School Board of Brevard County, Florida, referred to as the District or School Board, is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Food Service Refrigeration and Equipment Repair and Preventive Maintenance Service. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary services for the food service equipment utilized by the District in its operations.
Work Details
The awarded bidder will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform the following services:
1. Installation, Repair, and Removal:
a. Installation of new food service equipment purchased by the School Board or provided by the awarded bidder.
b. Installation of existing equipment relocated between District facilities.
c. Repair and servicing of food service refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, blast chillers, and serving line refrigerated equipment.
d. Repair and servicing of food preparation equipment including steamers, proofers, kettles, pot scrubbers, power dishwashing sinks, and combi ovens.
e. Disassembly and removal of refrigerated or food preparation equipment designated for decommissioning or disposal.
2. Preventative Maintenance: Annual preventative maintenance inspections may be required for walk-in coolers and freezers.
3. Emergency Work Assignment: The School Board reserves the right to assign emergency work to any awarded bidder without soliciting quotes from all vendors.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will continue until completion of all required services as specified in the bid documents.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within Brevard County as designated by the School Board.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet specific qualifications including:
1. Minimum Experience: Must have operated an active business for at least three consecutive years with verifiable experience in food service equipment repair within the last 36 months.
2. Licensing: Bidders must possess a valid Florida LP Gas License - Specialty Installer.
3. Technical Personnel: At least two qualified service technicians must be employed.
4. Certified Food Service Technician: A certified technician must be present on-site for all jobs.
