FLL Runway 10R-28L Security Enhancements

Background
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is managed by the Broward County Aviation Department. The purpose of this contract is to enhance security measures for Runway 10R-28L, ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations. This project aims to improve the overall safety infrastructure at the airport, which is critical for both operational efficiency and passenger safety.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the provision of all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary for the construction of security enhancements on Runway 10R-28L.

The contract will be a definite quantity contract, allowing for additional quantities up to 20% of the originally specified amounts within one year post-award. Specific tasks include installation of:
- Building Automation System (BAS) by Johnson Controls Inc.
- Access Control System by SGI Matrix Systems, LLC
- Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV) by NextGen Security, LLC
- Fire Alarm System by WSA Systems-Boca, LLC.

An allowance amounting to $1,604,558 has been allocated for these items and unforeseen conditions.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period defined in the solicitation documents but is expected to commence upon award notification and completion of all required documentation.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport located in Broward County, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must possess a State of Florida license as either a Certified General Contractor or Certified Building Contractor. Additionally, they must comply with bonding requirements and submit proof of licensing with their bid response. Vendors are required to perform at least 50% of the total contract price without subcontracting. The solicitation includes a 7% County Business Enterprise (CBE) goal participation requirement.
