Miami-Dade County is the 15th largest public transit system in the USA and the largest transit agency in Florida. The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) aims to expand and modernize its transportation infrastructure by implementing a Fare Collection Equipment (FCE) and Fare Collection Application (FCA). Work Details
The contract involves providing Project Management Services for the implementation of Fare Collection Equipment (FCE) and a Fare Collection program (FCA). The project will be executed in multiple phases:
- Phase 1 focuses on the South Dade Transitway Fare Collection Equipment Implementation, which includes construction at 14 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations along a 22-mile corridor. This phase includes fare gates, ticket vending machines (TVMs), and fareboxes, with a target completion date of July 2025.
- Phase 2 involves replacing existing fareboxes for the entire bus fleet with new Fare Collection Equipment.
- Phase 3 entails replacing station equipment such as TVMs and fare gates in all existing Metrorail stations.
Additionally, the implementation of the FCA includes system design and customization, integration and testing, deployment and training, data migration, post go-live support, and sunset of legacy fare systems.
